Darton Dry Cylinder Sleeve Set for BMW S58
Strengthen your BMW S58 engine block with a Darton Dry Cylinder Sleeve Set. These sleeves are designed to replace the factory cylinder liners with a stronger, more durable ductile iron cylinder surface, making them ideal for built S58 engines, high-boost turbo setups, and serious horsepower applications.
The factory S58 block is strong, but when pushing high cylinder pressure, upgraded turbos, aggressive boost, or larger piston setups, the factory cylinder surface can become a limiting point. Darton Dry Sleeves provide a stronger cylinder wall surface and allow the block to be properly machined for a performance engine build.

What Are Dry Sleeves?
Dry sleeves are called “dry” because the sleeve body is not directly exposed to coolant inside the block. They are installed into the block with an interference fit, creating a strong and stable cylinder surface without coolant surrounding the sleeve body.
Important Install Notes
All Darton sleeves come from the factory slightly smaller than the final bore size. These sleeves must be professionally installed, finish bored, and honed to match the exact piston specifications being used in the engine build.
Darton recommends that aluminum block cylinder walls be lightly honed with Brush Research bumble hones before sleeve installation. Proper surface preparation on both the block and sleeve helps improve sleeve fitment and heat transfer.
Professional machine work is required. These sleeves are not a drop-in part and should only be installed by an experienced machine shop or engine builder familiar with aluminum BMW S58 blocks.
